Ubud

Ubud is a seemingly small town located in the central-southern part of the island. Seemingly small, because Ubud is hundreds, if not thousands of cafes, restaurants, fashionable shops, galleries with local art. This is a place that for many is synonymous with Bali. Nestled among rice fields and jungles, Ubud is the cultural capital of the island. People come here to experience spiritual renewal, practice yoga and meditate. Unfortunately, due to its popularity, the center of Ubud has become crowded and jammed almost all the time. Therefore, in our program, apart from the Monkey Forest located in the city center, where we will see hundreds of gray macaques, we would like to bypass the most popular streets of the city and go to a slightly quieter area. And we will find there, among others, the Tegalalang rice terraces, which are among the most beautiful on the island. They were founded in a deep gorge, hundreds of which cut through the local rainforest. We will also go to the temple of Pura Tirta Empul, built in the 10th century, where you can take a ritual bath in pools fed from an underground source. For lunch, we will go to rice fields not frequented by tourists near the center of Ubud. It is a very peaceful and relaxing place, which you can see in the video below (from 28 seconds). Finally, if you have enough time, we will visit the luwak coffee plantation, where you can also taste many other types of coffee.
