West Bali

During this mini trip we will visit two or three places, depending on the pace of sightseeing. After leaving the hotel, we will reach the Hindu temple of Tanah Lot. It was built in the 16th century on a tiny rock on the seashore, which becomes an island when the tide is high. Tourists cannot go inside it, but they can admire it from the shore from a short distance. However, you can move around the entire complex adjacent to the temple, which also offers amazing views. The whole is located on the rocks that have been drilled by the waves crashing against them for centuries.

Then we drive to the Jatiluwih rice fields, undoubtedly the most spectacular of all in Bali. They have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. First of all, they are huge. One day would not suffice to go through it in its entirety. The whole area is a bit different from the typical Balinese countryside. It is extremely clean here and the roads are in very good condition. Entrance to the Jatiluwih area takes place through one of the tollgates, where admission fees are collected. Considering the law and order, you can feel a bit like in an alpine valley. After a walk through the rice fields, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

If it is not too late and we feel up to a slightly extreme expedition, we will go deep into the jungle to the Nung Nung waterfall. This is perhaps the most spectacular of the Balinese waterfalls, which, thanks to its difficult accessibility, is fortunately not visited by hundreds of tourists. Usually you can meet only a few people there or even no one. The waterfall is located in a deep canyon. To reach the place you have to climb 600 very high stairs. However, what we see there is worth every effort.
